What are the benefits of hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy can have many beneficial effects with a very wide range of issues from a phobia to a complex trauma.
I work with a broad spectrum of issues, including:
- eating disorders
- addictions
- managing pain
- social anxiety
- study / exam problems
Unlike many therapists, I am very comfortable and happy working with children and teenagers and have seen many positive outcomes with both.
Once the primary issue is addressed, the block can dissipate naturally and easily, allowing the client to be calmer, more centred and carefree.
Clients often report beneficial changes in other areas of their life in addition to the concern for which they originally sought help, including
- improved sleep
- the ability to relax
- an improved sense of wellbeing
- greater ability to enjoy life
- better focus, reduced distraction
What will happen in a hypnotherapy session?
I will ask what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to see or feel at the end of your sessions. I will explain what hypnotherapy is, how I work and what you can expect from the sessions. After the consultation the therapist will guide you into hypnosis using the method I believe to be most appropriate for you. After a session you may feel uplifted, lighter and most likely, very relaxed.
In work with your subconscious mind, change is often very subtle. As well as addressing a specific problem, you may over time notice a very positive shift in how you are feeling.
Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state which we call “trance-like”, but is connected to focussed attention and daydreaming.
It allows us to more freely reach unconscious thoughts and feelings which direct our outlook and habits and can prevent us from seeing things clearly.
Using simple techniques, in calm, comfortable surroundings, the therapist helps you arrive at this state with clarity, stability and a pleasant, relaxed feeling.
Without the resistance of distracting unconscious thoughts and fears we can gain insight and a new perspective on apparently very stubborn problems and make adjustments to limiting unconscious beliefs.
In this way habits which no longer serve us may be overcome, and we can nurture roots of a new positive vision of life.
